Biowrite Solutions Limited is a medical writing agency based on the North Shore of Auckland, New Zealand. We were formed early in 2007 and have since successfully partnered with clients in the medical communications and pharmaceutical industries around the world. We have a team of experienced writers, most with PhDs and many years of experience working in the medical communications industry. In addition, we work with a group of freelance medical writers who also have many years of writing experience.

Dr Tim Ibbotson
Tim has a PhD in pharmacology from the University of Manchester, UK and several years experience as a research scientist within the pharmaceutical industry. In 1998, Tim joined GlaxoWellcome where he provided medical writing support to the neurology clinical teams. Since leaving GW, Tim has occupied senior positions within several leading medical communications companies. Although his early training was in neurosciences, Tim also has extensive writing experience in virology, gastroenterology, and endocrinology. Having worked as a writer within the pharmaceutical industry and the med comms industry, Tim has a valuable perspective on the importance of customer satisfaction within medical writing.

Dr Lynda Wiseman
Lynda completed her PhD on antiestrogen activity in the treatment of breast cancer at the University of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. After post-doc studies on mechanisms of cytotoxic drug resistance in cancer, Lynda joined the medical communications profession and has since worked in the industry for over 15 years. Lynda has specialist knowledge in the oncology field, with a broad understanding of cancer management and treatment. In addition, she also has experience across various other therapeutic areas including neurology and anti-infectives. With Lynda’s wealth of editorial experience in oncology, Biowrite have established core strength in this rapidly-changing field.

Dr Sheena Hunt
Sheena obtained her PhD in parasitology from King’s College, London and has since worked in the pharmaceutical industry for over 12 years. She worked at Astra Pharmaceuticals as a clinical scientist where she gained invaluable experience in the clinical trials process and medical writing. Sheena has also worked as a medical writer for several contract research organizations and medical communication agencies on a wide range of document types and therapeutic areas. She has broad knowledge and experience in the field of infectious diseases and has also worked extensively on gastrointestinal and respiratory disease.

Dr Sara Duggan
Sara gained her PhD in biomedical sciences from King’s College London, investigating antioxidant gene expression in diabetic nephropathy. Sara has several years research experience in diabetes, cardiovascular disease and preterm labour, with an emphasis on oxidative stress, cell signalling and inflammation. Through her research, Sara has been involved in the preparation and presentation of primary manuscripts, posters and oral communications, giving her an extensive and accomplished background for medical writing.
